Kuala Lumpur: Mitsubishi Malaysia has come out with another limited trim of their successful model Triton VGT. The company has officially launched their Mitsubishi Triton Phantom edition in the country, which is limited to only 200 units. Mitsubishi Triton Phantom price is stated to be RM116K by the Japanese carmaker. The heavily mutated offroader will be made available with a three-year or first 100,000km warranty by the company. Along with that, Mitsubishi is also offering a deal of two-year free maintenance with RM2,000 cash rebate package or a free labour with RM4,000 cash rebate.

Mitsubishi Triton Phantom Front

The Mitsubishi Phantom is completely based on the double-cab model of Mitsubishi Triton 2.5 VGT 4×4 Adventure. The Japanese have performed a complete clockwork over the offroader to make it more sporty and stylish. Most alluring enhancement in the Phantom is the matte black paintwork along with pitch black 17-inch alloy rims, front grille and rear bumper. Mitsubishi has also refined the exterior kit of the Phantom, by rounding off conventional lamps with the xenon headlamps having LED DRLs and a unique “Phantom” badge on the front bonnet. Apart from this, the Phantom Edition has also received a unique sports bar a rear flatbed hard cover and front bumper extender.

The-Triton-VGT-MT Borneo Safari

Mitsubishi Triton already enjoys a celebrity status in Malaysia, the car in past has also proved its off-roading capabilities at the 25th Borneo Safari. The Triton VGT 2.5L Common Rail diesel with 5-speed manual transmission went through a complete 8-day 7-night expedition through some of the hardest terrains Sabah has to offer and surprisingly it covered all the track without any glitch. You will find the same engine beneath the bonnet of the Phantom as well. It is a 2.5-litre variable geometry turbo (VGT) diesel engine that rumbles out a hefty power of 178 PS and 400 Nm at 2,000 rpm which is constantly distributed over the four wheels by its five-speed automatic gearbox.
