New Mitsubishi Triton and Pajero Sport facelift launched at GIIAS 2024

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Indonesia, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) has unveiled two new models, the all-new Triton and new Pajero Sport, at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. 

The automaker’s booth at the show has a "Passion to Support Your Life's Adventure" theme that reflects the brand’s “dedication to providing more personalized, high-quality service, and ensuring every customer”

Mitsubishi Triton

Expected to land on Malaysian soil this year, the new Triton underpins a newly developed ladder frame with a larger cross-sectional area and lighter body. It is available in Single Cab and Double Cab iterations in Indonesia. The Double Cab measures 5,360 mm in length 1,930 mm in width and 1,815 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. With a ground clearance of 222 mm, the vehicle offers 4x4 cruising capability.

The new Triton boasts Mitsubishi's signature Dynamic Shield front design with a new three-dimensional grille and new T-shape headlights. On the sides, the vehicle gets robust doors, 18-inch alloy wheels, and wide side steps, while the rear profile is kitted with new T-shaped tail lamps and a subtle spoiler for better aerodynamics. 

The interior of the new Mitsubishi Triton is classy and feature-rich with key highlights including an 8-inch head unit, 7-inch driver display, dual-zone climate, leather seats, a wireless charger, and 7 SRS airbags The ADAS pack comprises - Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist, Automatic High Beam, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Forward Collision Mitigation System.

The Indonesia-spec Triton is equipped with a 2.4-litre Euro 4 turbo diesel engine producing a maximum power of 184 PS and a peak torque of 430 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via six-speed AT or six-speed MT.

Mitsubishi Indonesia offers the new Triton in six variants, with prices ranging from IDR 301,350,000 (RM 87,295) to IDR 525,600,000 (RM 152,256). Five colour choices include - white diamond, solid white, graphite grey metallic, blade silver metallic, and jet black mica.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

Alongside the Triton, Mitsubishi’s booth at the event also displays the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift that is grabbing attention with its refreshed design and enhanced features. The upgraded SUV features a new hexagonal front grille, a bold-looking bumper, and new 18-inch alloy wheels. Also part of the exterior kit are bi-LED projector headlights, LED DRLs, combination LED tail lamps and a powered tailgate with a hands-free function.

The interior is decked up in a black and burgundy theme for a premium sporty impression. The updates include a new multi-functional steering wheel, a full-digital 8-inch digital display, a NanoeX feature, and dual-zone automatic control. Handling the infotainment duties is an 8-inch unit supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and satellite navigation.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport comes in two engine options - a 2.4-litre turbo diesel producing 181 PS and 430 Nm and a 2.5-litre turbocharged good for making 136 PS and 324 Nm.

The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is offered in four variants - GLX 4X4, Exceed MT, Exceed AT, Dakar 4x2, Dakar Ultimate 4x2, and Dakar Ultimate 4x4, priced between IDR 593,100,000 (RM 171,809) and IDR 764,200,000 (RM 221,293). 

Four colour choices include - Quartz White Pearl, Blade Silver Metallic, Graphite Gray Metallic, and Jet Black Mica.
