Nissan Altima turned into a comfortable snow car

KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan has converted the Altima (Teana) into a snow car for the Montreal International Auto Show. All the four wheels of the sedan are replaced with a snow track system. The Nissan Altima in Canada comes with AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) system as standard since the country has to deal with a lot of snow.

The Japanese automaker is trying hard to give a tough competition to Toyota, and as a result, the automaker presents its models as young and exciting. The all-new Altima comes with a wider body. As the arches are massive, the front, as well as the rear subframes have more space. Moreover, the suspension pickup points are now 50 mm higher.

The tracks have a length of 120 cm, a height of 750 mm, and width is around 380 mm. The width of the track is double of the car’s tyre. This has increased the overall width of the vehicle by 360 mm.

The snow-car version of the Altima gets 7-inch wide fender flares, which help divert the snow away from the body. The bespoke widebody kit has been built using Quebec's Motorsports in Action group, and it took a massive 150 hours of time to assemble.

The Nissan Rogue SUV crossed the snow tracks back in early 2016. On April 2016, the carmaker turned the SUV into a dirt-tackling brute. Nissan’s latest creation has been seen in the 2018 Chicago Auto Show with the 370Zki. The carmaker has provided a set of front skies to the concept rather than relying on the track.
