MAS 2025: Nissan KICKS e-POWER IMPUL Edition now open for booking

KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan has officially introduced the KICKS e-POWER IMPUL Edition at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025. This sportier take on the electrified compact SUV is now open for booking nationwide, with deliveries expected to begin in July 2025.

The 2025 Nissan KICKS e-POWER IMPUL Edition is a visual upgrade of the standard KICKS e-POWER, a compact SUV powered by Nissan’s e-POWER drivetrain.

Unlike a full EV, it uses a petrol engine to charge a battery that powers the electric motor, offering electric drive without requiring plug-in charging.

This IMPUL Edition doesn’t alter the powertrain but adds distinctive styling elements developed with aftermarket tuner IMPUL Japan, aiming to appeal to buyers looking for something bolder in the B-segment SUV category.

IMPUL Styling Package and Price in Malaysia

The full IMPUL Edition package is priced at RM8,500, broken down into:

• RM5,000 for the IMPUL Aerokit (front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirt garnish), roof spoiler (Japan-made), and bonnet emblem
• RM3,500 for 18-inch Japan-made IMPUL Aura SX-50 alloy wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport tyres (225/45 R18)
  

The alloy wheels and tyres package is limited to just 50 vehicle sets.

All IMPUL accessories are covered by a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.

Early Bird Promotion: Free Aerokit and Accessories

To coincide with the debut, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) is offering a free IMPUL Aerokit as part of its early bird campaign for the KICKS e-POWER IMPUL Edition.

Depending on the variant (VL or VLT), buyers will also receive:

• Roof spoiler
• Door visors
• Trunk tray
• Door handle protectors (4pcs)
• Kicking plates
• Sport pedals
• Speaker trim covers
• Dual-channel camera driving-video recorder
  

For tinting:

• VL variant: ICE COOL Tinting + Auto-dimming rear-view mirror with reverse camera
• VLT variant: V-KOOL™ Security Film Tinting
  

The Nissan KICKS e-POWER IMPUL Edition retains the same e-POWER drivetrain launched in Malaysia in late 2024. This system uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine as a generator to charge a battery, which powers the electric motor that drives the wheels. There is no need for plug-in charging.

“Since its introduction late last year, the Nissan KICKS e-POWER has made positive inroads in the highly-competitive compact SUV segment,” said Khoo Cheng Pah, CEO of Edaran Tan Chong Motor. “The recent recognition as ‘Vehicle of the Year’ by DSF.my Allianz VOTY 2025 further validates the strength of Nissan’s e-POWER technology.”

The Nissan KICKS e-POWER IMPUL Edition in Malaysia offers no performance changes, but the visual enhancements may appeal to SUV buyers seeking a more distinctive, sporty option.

With limited alloy sets and an early bird promo in place, it could serve as a timely refresh to Nissan’s compact SUV presence in a crowded local market.
