Nissan IMk concept released prior to the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan has unveiled the IMk Concept car prior to the Tokyo Motor Show which will start on 24th October 2019. The IMk concept, a fully electric concept represents a combination of chic design with high-level modern technologies. The concept does not only deliver a unique designer outlook called ‘Timeless Japanese Futurism’ but it also provides a perspective of ‘Intelligent Mobility’.
The concept has a boxy look like most other cars, basically the kei cars from Nissan but it has some modern technologies and sleek design that is able to deliver the boarders with ultimate comfort. As per the carmaker, the Nissan cars with IMk concept has powerful EV acceleration that makes it an ultimate city car.
The car comes with some traditional Japanese style quotients. The reddish copper color of the car comes from Akagane paint scheme that was predominantly used by the Japanese artists to make functional artistry.
The famous Mizuhiki pattern of Japan is incorporated at different areas of the car like wheels, bumper, tail-lamp, roof and spoilers. The Mizuhiki pattern is actually made from the Japanese rice paper. Furthermore, the traditional Kigumi design of Japan is also taken as a reference to make the lower doors. It is prominently used in joining and pasting wooden furniture in Japan.
Some modern textures are present in the Nissan concept car in places like the dashboard and seats of the car. As per the modern design features, the interior of the car is made up of light coloured materials as well as Akagane border lines. Dimple design on the seats also provides sleekness to the interior.
The controls of the car are automated where there are no hassles of changing gears. Illuminated copper trims are present in the car that provides easier access to the driver getting vital information related to driving. Things like the speedometer are placed just behind the steering wheel that helps the driver to look at it easily.
Nissan has confirmed that the latest IMk Concept is studded with the latest version of the ProPILOT. Although, there are no accurate details available about it. As per further official announcements, the upcoming versions of Nissan IMk will have I2V feature too.
