Omoda C9 PHEV launched in Malaysia - 1,100 km range, RM 208,800

KUALA LUMPUR: First previewed in August 2025, the Omoda C9 PHEV has finally landed on Malaysian shores. The electrified version of the C9 coupe SUV is touted as the brand’s most powerful vehicle ever, setting new benchmarks for plug-in hybrid performance.

Segment-first Tri-Motor Plug-in Hybrid powertrain

At the core of the new Omoda Jaecoo SUV lies the segment-first tri-motor plug-in hybrid powertrain. This advanced Super Hybrid System (SHS) combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection four-cylinder engine, a tri-motor setup (two motors at the front and one at the rear), and a 3-Speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, delivering an electrifying driving experience.

Unlike traditional hybrid systems, this drivetrain features a unique dual-motor SHS architecture that improves propulsion and regenerative braking efficiency. It offers seamless switching between pure electric and hybrid driving modes and ensures optimal performance.

There are a total of six selectable drive modes, three levels of regenerative braking, and a dedicated function to switch between Full EV and Smart HEV modes, enabling drivers to tailor the settings according to road and driving conditions.

Advanced chassis and suspension

The SUV underpins a robust chassis engineered for both comfort and dynamic performance. Handling the suspension duties are MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear suspension.

These are complemented by an advanced Continuous Damping Control (CDC) active suspension system that can adjust damping forces up to 100 times per second. Alongside three manual modes (Soft, Medium, and Hard), this intelligent suspension system has an automatic mode, which detects road conditions and adapts the settings in real time.

Luxurious and technology-focused cabin

The new C9 PHEV boasts a sophisticated and technology-focused cabin, offering you a quiet, comfortable, and long-distance driving experience. It features premium black leather upholstery, refined material finishes, and a bag full of advanced features, including -

The SUV provides ample versatility for daily use and extended journeys with a spacious boot area measuring 660 litres; it can be expanded up to 1,783 litres with rear seats folded up.

Smart connectivity and remote vehicle management

The vehicle offers seamless connectivity and intelligent vehicle management with the CarLinko mobile application, powered by the TBox connectivity system. It allows owners to monitor vehicle status, control key functions, and access smart charging features for greater convenience and a more connected ownership experience.

Advanced safety and driver-assistance systems

With 85% high-strength steel body structure, the plug-in hybrid vehicle comes packed with a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety technologies, a Level 2.5 Advanced Driver Assistance System, and the brand’s signature 540-degree HD Surround View camera system.

The SUV has demonstrated its strong performance in occupant protection, earning a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating.

Omoda C9 PHEV: Price and early-bird promo

Locally-assembled in Chery Corporate Malaysia Factory in Shah Alam, the C9 PHEV retails for RM 208,800 (on the road, without insurance). The warranty package includes -

• 7-year or 200,000 km vehicle warranty
• 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty
• 10-year or 200,000 km EV components (battery, electric motors, and power electronics) warranty

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has also introduced a Special Launch Package for customers who book the PHEV between 18 March and 30 April 2026. The promo offers a RM 3,000 Duit Raya rebate and a complimentary Vehicle-to-Load connector cable valued at RM 730.

The company also offers a limited number of fully imported units with a complimentary 1-year insurance coverage worth up to RM 6 ,000.
