Photo by Thoriq AzmiShawn Xu, CEO of Omoda | Jaecoo International, detailed the plan on stage during the said summit, which sees two models earmarked to wear the Omoda badge, whilst a further four will be badged as Jaecoo products instead. By 2028, these additions will see the sub-brand boast a global line-up of 13 vehicles.
Xu remained vague in terms of details, but the hints and product positioning the exec gave, plus the analysis of the model codes used, tell us plenty. Firstly, both Omoda and Jaecoo will each see a brand-new Omoda 2 and Jaecoo J3 entry-level offerings to slot below their existing Omoda 4 (C4) and Jaecoo J5 models.

All will certainly be derivatives based on the Himla pick-up truck developed and mass-produced by parent Chery.
