Proton Aria City Revealed, Adopted from Suzuki Celerio
KUALA LUMPUR: The news has been made by Proton by signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Licence Agreement to build and sell Suzuki models, first car which is tipped to be an A-segment car, allowing Proton to gain market traction that Perodua hold strongly. This is expected to come as early as in August 2016.
In today's competition, whiz Theophilus Chin has presented the second vision about the looks of the car. After the signing event, a photo of the Indian market Alto K10 has been photoshopped by him with Proton badges. According to him, a Celerion would be more better and suitable, made by modifying Suzuki's global city car. It will be classified in Proton Aria.
Alongwith all above, Proton symbols on the wheels and grille and Theo has done some work to enhance the grille in downward direction. It is appended on adding a silver skid plate-like applique and ended it off with few clean and clear SUV-like plastic body mouldings.
Iriz's steering wheel is also added to the no-frills interior, which is well-fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox. Result is fruitful by adding some visual flair that depends on slightly bargain-basement car.
Availability of Celerio is either with a 67 hp/90 Nm 1.0 litre three-cylinder petrol engine or with a 47 hp/125 Nm 793 cc two-cylinder turbodiesel, combined with either the aforementioned five-speed stick shifter or with a CVT.
