Proton Tech Showcase: Next-gen tech displays, New 2026 model debut, live talks, and more
KUALA LUMPUR: After launching the e.MAS 5 and the all-new Saga, Proton is now geared up for the next year. The national automaker has just launched an event titled Proton Technology Showcase at its Centre of Excellence (COE) facility, which showcases the brand’s next-gen technologies and offers a sneak peek of its upcoming model.

Set to open for the public from December 5, the 3-day long event offers visitors an opportunity to gain insights into Proton’s newest tech and models.
Proton’s latest automotive technologies
The event displays the automaker’s most significant engineering achievements under one roof, enabling visitors to experience its latest breakthroughs in electrification, powertrain development and intelligent connectivity.

The event also showcases Proton’s newest models, including the X50, e.MAS 5 and the new Saga, allowing visitors to check these exciting vehicles up and close. Along with that, a new Proton model will make its public debut at the show ahead of the launch slated for early 2026. We are talking about the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, powered by the brand’s latest plug-in hybrid technology.
Recently spied while undergoing tests, the e.MAS 7 PHEV will come as a rebadged version of the Geely Starship 7, powered by a 1.5‑litre naturally aspirated four‑cylinder engine delivering 111 PS/136 Nm. It is mated to a 12‑to‑1 electrified dedicated hybrid transmission.

Beyond the displays, visitors can also gain valuable insights through a series of presentations from Proton, Geely, vendors and external parties. Also, there will be panel discussions, a special LIVE taping session and the popular podcast, Tekan Habis, allows visitors to interact directly with the hosts.
Exclusive ride-along at Malaysia’s first semi high-speed test track
Another important part of the Proton Technology Showcase will be the chance to go for a taxi-ride on Proton’s first semi high-speed test track. It is a key testing ground for Proton models and is also home to Malaysia’s only dedicated semi high-speed test facility.
Additionally, visitors can also take part in a test drive session featuring the brand’s latest models, including the all-new Saga.
