Proton to launch updated Saga and Exora soon with ‘Hi Proton’ voice command system
KUALA LUMPUR: After launching an SUV and two facelift models subsequently, Proton has scheduled the launch of updated versions of Saga and Exora later this year. The Proton Saga is a volume model that crossed the 3,000-unit mark in April 2019. On the other hand, the Exora is a seven-seater model, which is considered as an out-of-date model in the current scenario.

Dr Li Chunrong, Proton’s Chief Executive Officer said, “ Our aim is to try and end the year in second place to create a solid base for our long-term goal of leading the Malaysian car market again. With the launch of the Iriz and Persona and improved versions of the Proton Exora and Saga set to be introduced later this year, the company is quietly confident it can achieve its goal,” to back up the brand’s strong sales momentum.
Earlier on, some spy shots of Saga’s prototype model was seen. The development phase models come with a new design both for the front and rear bumpers, and there is also a new Infinite Weave grille. These attributes define the brand’s new design language, which was first furnished with X70 SUV. However, it is expected that Saga will retain the 1.3-litre VVT engine.

The Proton Exora will get an update for the third time, after being launched in 2011 and revamped in 2017. The upcoming version will get the same enhancements as the Saga. Also included, a raft of measures that decreases the vibration, harshness, and noise.

There will be a new head unit, which will be the same as the one in Iriz and Persona. Moreover, a seven-inch infotainment system with 4G internet connectivity will also make its way in the four-wheeler. This will enable receiving live traffic updates, “Hi Proton” voice command system and online music streaming, etc.
