Ssang Yong Rexton Updated with New Engine and Mercedes-Sourced Automatic Transmission

Kuala Lumpur: Ssang Yong has announced a number of upgrades for its Rexton in UK where it is available in four variants namely SE, EX, EX automatic and range-topping ELX automatic. These upgrades for Ssang Yong Rexton include a more efficient engine along with Mercedes-Benz automatic gearbox.

Beneath the hood, it receives a new Euro 6 compliant 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine which churns out a maximum power of 178 PS along with a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1400 to 2800 rpm. The CO2 emissions for this car has come down from 196 grams per km to 184 grams per km. It also delivers an impressive fuel efficiency of 7.1 litre per 100 km. Further, an option of six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed automatic transmission by Mercedes-Benz is also provided which aids in smoothness and refinement. Both of these options have a low-range setting which help it to maintain its off-road ability. Moreover, Ssang Yong Rexton also carries a towing capacity of three-tonne.
