Suzuki to showcase Jimny, Swift Sport concepts at 2019 TAS
KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki has announced to showcase three new concept cars at the upcoming 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon. The two among these concepts will be based on the brand-new Jimmy, while the third one will take some inspiration from the Swift Sport.
First of the lot seems to be a spectacular car concept, which is likely to be named Jimny Sierra Pickup Style. Suzuki has used a Jimny in Sierra trim and replaced the rear seats to create a shorter bed. This concept is targetted on customers who want a pickup for adventure and other hobbies.
It gets a golden paint job with a wooden finish at the sides. The unique front bumper carries two hooks. Four LED clusters are placed on top of the sports bar, and the wheel arches are likely to get a silver paint job.
The second concept is named Jimny Survive, which is an offroader with plenty of adventure gears. Under the hood, there is a three-cylinder, 0.66-litre engine along with a turbocharger. The Caterham Seven 160 gets a similar engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 64.
The Swift Sport Concept, last of the lot, is likely to be equipped with a host of design elements like boy-racer-inspired headlight covers, a carbon-fibre bar in the front grille, a lowered suspension, and carbon-fibre lip spoiler. The Yellow Rev also comes with alloy wheels, which are wrapped in performance tires. The decals of the car remind the early-2000s cars.
