KUALA LUMPUR: Lynk & Co first introduced the 03 sedan a while back (approx. 3 years ago) and now the automaker has introduced an all-new generation of the car. Apart from looking stylish, the sedan packs a powerful engine, advanced features, and a strong safety suit.

Platform

The new 03 sedan is based on the popular CMA platform that is co-developed by Volvo and Geely. Thus assuring a strong and efficient build.

Design

In terms of looks, though the car doesn’t look much different from the previous-gen model, it does get several new inclusions. For instance, a sportier & more aggressive front, a new larger grille extending from the bumper’s lower edge, redesigned bumper, and a more aggressive side air intake. The rear end features a redesigned taillight that runs all the way through the tailgate and new quad exhaust pipes. To further spice up the sedan’s look, the automaker is offering a choice of two rear spoilers.

Cabin

While the lime-coloured accents remain the same as before, what’s new is the car’s feature kit that now includes - a new 12.8-inch floating screen placed higher on the dash, relocated air-con vents, a larger fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument panel, and a neater centre tunnel. Also, the car now gets more storage space than before.

Powertrain

Powering the new 03 sedan is a new 2.0-litre turbo engine generating maximum power of 258 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The drive is sent to the wheels via a 7-speed DCT unit. In the 03+ version, the same engine pumps out 269 PS and is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that transmits power to all four wheels.

The hybrid variant, on the other hand, gets a 248 PS/545 Nm 1.5-litre unit which is coupled to a 3-speed DHT Pro gearbox.

Price

With all the improvements, the new Lynk & Co 03 sedan costs considerably high compared to the previous-gen model.
