Interestingly, the SUV has earned the nickname “Hangzhou Bay Cullinan” due to design and positioning that strongly resemble the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Hangzhou Bay refers to Zeekr’s home region, as the company is headquartered in Zhejiang province near Hangzhou.

Here are five top things to know about this highly anticipated luxury SUV -

First Zeerk model with an internal combustion engine

The 9X is the first model in Zeekr’s global lineup that features an internal combustion engine, as all its previous models (like Zeekr 001, Zeekr X, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr 7X) are pure electric cars.

Built on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA-S) platform, the SUV is powered by a Super Hybrid system combining a 279-PS 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two or three electric motors, depending on the variant. Two available battery packs are - 55 kWh and 70 kWh battery, offering an all-electric range of up to 380 km. The combined range varies between 1,165 km and 1,250 km, depending on trim.

    Supercar-level performance

The hybrid setup delivers a whopping power of 1,400 PS (1,030 kW) and a peak torque of 1,410 Nm, making it one of the most powerful luxury SUVs available in the global market.

With up to 1,400 PS on tap, the electrified 9X delivers supercar-level performance. Despite being a large three-row SUV, it runs from zero to 100 kmph in just 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 kmph.

These impressive numbers place it in supercar territory, as such acceleration figures are typically associated with high-performance sports cars.

    Supports ultra-fast 6C charging technology

The Zeekr 9X features the revolutionary 900V high-voltage architecture, supporting the ultra-fast 6C charging technology. In simple terms, a 6C charging rate means the battery pack can accept charging power at up to 6 times its capacity, providing extremely rapid charging and significantly reducing charging time.

This ultra-fast charging tech enables the battery to juice up from 20 to 80% in just 8 minutes and 21 seconds, which is quite impressive. While addressing one of the biggest concerns associated with electrified cars, the Zeekr 9X charging speed sets a new benchmark in the segment.

This intelligent system uses AI to coordinate the vehicle’s suspension, steering, braking and movements in real time. It can analyse driving inputs and road conditions and adjust the vehicle dynamically for better handling. It gives the hi-tech SUV smooth comfort on highways and strong stability on all types of terrains.

There is no luxury without safety, right? Equipped with Haohan Safety Armour, Zeekr’s latest flagship has proved its capabilities by acing the world’s first four-way crash test at 105 kmph. The SUV incorporates the G-Pilot H7 driver assistance system backed by LiDAR sensors and Nvidia chips. Additional new safety protections include crosswind control, side-impact lift, and automatic obstacle avoidance.
