Toyota Avanza 2016 facelift leaked: alternate front end

KUALA LUMPUR: A lot of activity is going on at Toyota, as previously some spyshots of new Fortuner was released, which looked ready for launch. A leaked photo of the facelifted 2016 Toyota Avanza has been released by the Indonesian motoring portal AutonetMagz. Toyota is all set to unveil this seven seater MPV at the inaugural Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show 2015, which is going to dazzle the auto enthusiasts in August.

The front end of the car has been seen before, whereas, the spyshots clearly show the changed fascia of the car in comparison to its ongoing model. The bonnet and the front fenders both have been modified which will wear a clamshell form. From the designing perspective, the headlights are kept horizontal instead of the vertical alignment, giving a similar look of the previous generation Lexus RX.

It carries a large chrome bar linking the headlights, which have been retained, despite the large upper grille similar to the HR-V, there are many slimmer twin inlets. The fascia is equipped with the fog lights despite the fact that the controlling is done by an enormous Vios-like downturned lower grille.

Toyota might differentiate further between the two different looks available on the Avanza, as they are sold as two different models. The sportier version, which this model replaces is being sold as Avanza Veloz. This machine houses side skirts and aggressive bumpers, which seem adopted from the top-spec 1.5S variant.

In previous car, rear end is having restyled tail lights and a newly chrome-garnished number plate. Current model boasts of whopping figures such as 103 PS/136 Nm, 1.5L and 91 PS/117 Nm, 1.3L VVT-i engines to soldier on, which are coupled with same five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmissions.
