Volvo Trucks Opens its Flagship Showroom in Malaysia at Port Klang

Kuala Lumpur: The Swedish heavy duty vehicles manufacturer Volvo, held an official opening of its flagship dealership today at the Port Klang. Ambassador of Sweden to Malaysia, Mr. Bengt Carlsson attended the event along with some senior management people from the Volvo Group and Volvo Malaysia in the presence of customers and media.

Volvo has come up with a very efficient business strategy in Malaysia. The company is striving its best to raise the customer experience in retail sales. The all-new Port Klang flagship dealership is under Volvo's plan to establish a better network of dealership across the country thus reducing the average travel distance between each of its dealer point.

Christophe Martin, President of Asia Oceania Sales, Volvo Group Trucks said at the opening launch, “Volvo’s aim is to achieve sturdy and steady growth in the region. Our business is guided by a strategy that takes us closer to the customer through product innovation, service and people. The opening of our Malaysian flagship dealership underscores this, as it enables us to create new capabilities to best support our customers.”

Martin also added that these dealerships are specifically designed to serve the Volvo buses in Malaysia as well. The dealership are built with modern workshop design and constructed columns for double bays so that they can allow easier drive-in and out of vehicles that come in for service or repair.

The all new Volvo Trucks dealership in Port Klang is spread over a land area of 4.1 acres with a built-up space of over 35,850 square feet. The facility features around 20 workstations with 10 double bays owing to which it can easily accommodate 24 trucks for service and repair work.

Volkswagen Malaysia also recently introduced such centre in the country. The Volkswagen facility is also similar in area to the Volvo facility. It measures 30,670 sq ft and spans over three floors.The new facility team consists of 15 experienced and certified technicians who manage 8 service bays, ready to provide quality services to the VW owners.

The Port Klang dealership is so far the largest Volvo dealership in the country offering a large parking space for trucks and boasting a great traffic flow with efficiently designed workshop. The facility is also equipped with advanced tools like brake tester, smoke tester and an overhead crane.
