Sluggish response, lack of acceleration

Small SUVs aren't purchased for their lightning-fast acceleration. However, the Honda HR-V leaves you wanting for more in terms of performance at higher speeds. When cruising at a steady pace along the highway, I need to make a quick pass. As I pressed down on the accelerator, I expected a power surge, but I was met with a disappointing lack of acceleration and a groan from the engine. It struggles a bit to pick up speed which leaves me feeling somewhat frustrated and underwhelmed by its sluggish response. This could be a consideration for those who need to overtake slower vehicles and drive alot on highways.
