100k Mitsubishi Triton pickup sold in Malaysia!

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has announced a significant milestone in its pickup’s, the Triton, journey. The vehicle in Malaysia has reached the 100,000 units sales milestone!

How is MMM celebrating this significant milestone?

Well, to commemorate this achievement, Mitsubishi gave Trition’s 100,000th customer, Encik Muhammad Faerus, 100,000km diesel worth up to RM 27,000.

In addition to commemorating the occasion, MMM is under plans to organize a contest called the 100,000 Triton Ambitions Contest. Starting from 14th September, the said contest is organized for all the pickup customers. Details of the contest are mentioned at the end.

The Triton pick-up has been a strong part of Mitsubishi Motor’s business and over the years the customers have been fully satisfied with its performance, handling, and safety features. The pickup's competitive price tag has also helped it cater to a wide customer segment in the country.

Shinya Ikeda, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia said, “Since the Triton was introduced in Malaysia, it has proven to be one of the favorite pick-up trucks in Malaysia with its rugged look, versatility, and good handling. It is capable in the harshest of off-road conditions but also perfect as an everyday vehicle. Our Triton customers come from all walks of life- business owners, off-road enthusiasts, and lifestyle users. Over the years, with Triton’s improved technology and functionality, it has inspired owners to take on challenges and push the boundaries in creating an exciting life journey, while fulfilling their dreams and ambitions.”

He added, “We would also like to extend our appreciation to the strong commitment of MMM’s authorized dealers and business partners, as well as gratitude to the Malaysian government and media friends that have spurred Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia to achieve this significant milestone.”

The Triton pickup has always been a strong player in the segment and in the company’s lineup. For instance, last year, despite the pandemic and strong competition from rivals, it had a 22 percent market share under its name. Figuratively speaking, the automaker sold 9,268 units in 2021 which accounted for a 34 percent growth over 2020.

100,000 Triton Ambitions Contest details

In order to participate in the contest, Mitsubishi Triton owners would be required to fill out a survey form and submit a photograph in either one or all of the following categories -

1. The Stylo King- owner’s most memorable leisure activity with the Triton
2. Tough Champ- owner’s toughest experience with the Triton
3. Extreme Adventurer- owner’s most memorable long-distance journey with the Triton
4. Mod Hero- owner’s coolest modified Triton

The winner of each category will win 25,000 km of diesel worth up to RM 7,000 each. More details about the upcoming contest are available at Mitsubishi Motors’ official website.
