2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ now on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Back in July, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduced the all-new E-Class in two variants - E 200 Avantgarde and E300 AMG Line and now it rolled out the sedan’s performance-oriented version, the AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+. Unlike the earlier models, the latest one is imported from the brand’s plant in Sindelfingen, Germany. Let’s discuss it in more detail, starting with the price.

The Mercedes AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ price in the local market starts at RM 1,118,888 (on-the-road without insurance). Included in the price are 10% sales tax and a four-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

The fast and furious sedan takes its power from a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine that kicks out a whopping power of 612 hp from 5,750 to 6,500 rpm along with a maximum torque of 850 Nm from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm. It is mated to a nine-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission, propelling the vehicle from zero to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 300 kmph. Contributing to the optimum output are

• AMG Ride Control+ suspension
• ADS+ adaptive damping
• Speed-sensitive steering
• AMG Dynamic Select system with six drive modes - Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual, and Race

In terms of design, the Mercedes AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ differentiates itself from non-AMG versions with a typical Panamericana grille, AMG quad exhaust tailpipes, and a striking rear spoiler. Other exterior key highlights are AMG radiator grille, AMG Night Package, AMG Exterior Carbon fibre package, multibeam LED headlights with Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus, and 20-inch 5-twin spoke alloy wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

Inside, the AMG-specific highlights are AMG Performance steering in Nappa leather. AMG Performance seats, AMG floor mats, and AMG door sills. Also part of the kit is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment unit, Apple Car Play, and Android Auto, head-up display, “Hey Mercedes” voice command system, wireless charging, three-zone air conditioning, Panoramic sunroof, and more.
