2021 Nissan Armada/Patrol made its debut in the US
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan is on a mission to reveal 10 new models in the US market in 20 months as a part of the ‘Nissan NEXT,’ the company’s global business, culture, and product transformation plan. In line with that, the Japanese automaker today pulled the wraps off the 2021 Armada aka Patrol SUV alongside the 2021 Kicks compact crossover.
As the first vehicle in the stable to carry the new Nissan logo, the Armada facelift gets dramatic styling enhancements including a fresh front and rear end incorporating the brand's latest design language. Upfront, there is a prominent 'V-Motion' grille and blocky LED headlamps, teaming up with a new front bumper. Almost all the bits forward of the A-pillar's are new, including the hood and fenders. At the rear end lies a redesigned bumper, freshened LED tail lamps, and a new badge on the tailgate.

Moving towards the premium interior, which boasts a perfect blend of strength and luxury. The redesigned central console gets a new 12.3-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Wi-Fi connectivity that keeps the users connected to the outside world. Other features include a 7.0-inch color instrument cluster, Qi wireless charging slot, a 13-speaker Bose premium sound system, over-the-air updates, and a larger, digital rear-view mirror.

In terms of safety, the SUV is loaded with advanced features like autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera, and more.
Powering the 2021 Armada is a proven 5.6-litre Endurance V8 engine producing a maximum power of 400 hp (best-in-class) and a peak torque of 560 Nm. Drive is sent to the wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. The SUV also has best-in-class standard 8,500 lbs maximum towing capacity.

In the US, Nissan offers the new Armada in three variants - SV, SL, and Platinum - and in two drive configurations - 2WD and 4WD. Also new for 2021 is a Midnight Edition Package, available for SL trim with a range of exclusive exterior and interior bits. The SUV will hit the US showrooms next month.
