2022 Honda Civic Hatchback accessories revealed for Japan

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda ramps up the styling quotient of the recently-unveiled 2022 Civic Hatchback by introducing a cool set of accessories. The automaker listed the factory add-ons on its Japanese website with brief details, which include cosmetic touches inside and out to make the hatch look more interesting and sporty.

Talking about the exterior first, the buyers will be able to equip the new Honda Civic Hatchback with a new front skirt adding an element of purpose to its aggressive front fascia. For the rear, there is a stylish spoiler on the list that can provide a sportier appearance to the hatch without interfering with its operation. Also on offer are stylish 18-inch aluminum rims with a two-tone design, which along with the mirror caps accentuate the hatchback’s side look. Rock guards are also a part of the accessory kit.

Adding to the Honda Civic Hatchback interior styling are illuminated door sill plates that carry the “Civic” badge. Buyers will also be able to add illumination to the centre console and cupholders, and projector lamps that beam a Civic script on the ground when the driver’s side door is open. Floor mats and footwell illumination could also be a part of the package.

Beyond these purely cosmetic accessories, Honda is not offering any mechanical upgrade. It gets two different powertrain options - first is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit delivering a maximum power output of 160 PS and a peak torque of 187 Nm. Another is a 1.5-litre turbocharged mill good for making 182 PS and 240 Nm. The transmission options on offer include a short-throw six-speed manual gearbox and a CVT.

The parts we mentioned above have only been announced for Japan, at the moment, but we do hope Honda will offer it in other markets post the new hatchback’s launch.
