Aeson Power launches Sodium-ion car batteries in Malaysia — safer, faster and better in the heat
KUALA LUMPUR: Australian energy company Aeson Power has officially entered the Malaysian market with its new range of sodium-ion automotive batteries, introducing the NaPulse Starting, NaPulse Start-Stop, and NaForce Start-Stop models.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What is Aeson Power and what does it offer in Malaysia?
Aeson Power is an Australian energy solutions provider that has launched its NaPulse Starting, NaPulse Start-Stop, and NaForce Start-Stop sodium-ion automotive batteries in Malaysia. These batteries are designed as direct replacements for lead-acid types, offering faster charging, longer lifespan, and improved safety under high heat. How much do Aeson Power sodium-ion car batteries cost?
Prices for Aeson Power’s sodium-ion automotive batteries in Malaysia start from RM369. Each unit comes with a 3-year warranty, compared to the typical 1-year warranty offered with conventional lead-acid batteries. The company says its batteries are designed to replace conventional lead-acid units found in most cars today, offering better durability, faster charging, and improved safety — especially under Malaysia’s punishing heat.

They can operate long-term at up to 80°C, and still retain more than 85% capacity after being stored for a month at 60°C.
According to Aeson, this makes them well-suited for the country’s humid climate and heavy traffic conditions, where heat build-up often shortens a conventional battery’s lifespan.
What’s inside
The new batteries use polyanion cathode technology, which gives them several advantages — including faster charging (from 0–100% in about 40 minutes), high-rate discharge for strong starts, and a longer overall lifespan.
They also recover even after being completely drained to zero volts and have three times the cycle life of lead-acid batteries — up to 3,000 cycles at 50% depth of discharge, compared to 500–1,200 cycles for regular batteries.
Performance is said to be stronger too. The company claims two to three times higher starting power, with peak current in the first 0.3 seconds exceeding that of lead-acid batteries. Vehicles can even start at 10.5 volts, while lead-acid batteries usually fail below 12V.
“Today’s launch represents a big milestone for Aeson Power as we introduce our NaPulse Starting, NaPulse Start-Stop and NaForce Start-Stop Sodium-ion automotive batteries to the diverse Malaysian market,” said Jin Chan, Managing Director of Aeson Power.

Price and warranty
The NaPulse and NaForce series are now on sale in Malaysia from RM369, each covered by a three-year warranty — three times longer than the standard one-year coverage most lead-acid batteries get.
Aeson Power says its batteries are compatible with over 95% of vehicles in the market, from regular passenger cars to commercial and industrial vehicles. They can directly replace MF, EFB and AGM batteries without modification.
The brand already sells its sodium-ion products in several international markets and is positioning Malaysia as one of its key growth regions in Southeast Asia.
