All-new 2023 Peugeot Landtrek arrived in Malaysia; check full details

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Peugeot cars in Malaysia, Bermaz Auto, today launched a brand new model in the country. Called the Landtrek, the pickup is offered in a sole 1.9D Allure variant which retails for RM 120,072 (on the road without insurance). Note, every purchase is accompanied by a 5-year, 100,000 km manufacturer warranty.

Let’s get to know the new Peugeot Landtrek in detail -

Powertrain

Powering the new Landtrek is a 1.9-litre inline-four turbocharged diesel engine generating a maximum power output of 150 hp at 4,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 350 Nm from 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. The drive is sent to all-four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Off-road capability

• A selection of 2WD high-range, 4WD high-range, and 4WD low-range by a rotary dial
• Rear axle with mechanically locking rear differential
• Wading depth of 600 mm
• Approach angle of 29 degree
• Breakover angle of 25 degree
• Departure angle 27 degree
• A side-slope angle of 42 degree
• Ground clearance of 235 mm

Braking and handling

While braking is taken care of by ventilated discs at the front and drums at the rear, the suspension duty is performed by a double-wishbone setup in front and leaf springs at the rear. The car rides on 18-inch alloys wrapped in 265/60 tyres and it also gets a full-size spare alloy wheel.

Safety kit

The French pickups active safety kit includes -

• Lane departure warning system
• Hill descent control
• Hill start assist
• Electronic stability program suite of systems including ABS, EBD with brake assist, stability control, and anti-skid regulation

The passive safety kit, on the other hand, includes

• Drive and front passenger airbags, front side airbags as well as front and rear curtain airbags
• Seat belt reminders (for both first and second-row occupants
• Front row with pre-tensioning, load-limiting belts with height-adjustable anchor points
• Isofix anchor points and top tether positions for child restraint systems
