All-new 2025 Leapmotor C10 launched in China – More power, lower price

KUALA LUMPUR: Introduced in Malaysia last year, the Leapmotor C10 has received a significant upgrade in China. The upgraded electric SUV gains performance and tech improvements along with a price reduction, offering even greater value to those seeking a well-tuned EV.

Exterior

In terms of exterior, the new Leapmotor C10 looks almost identical to the previous model. The future-forward design features two curved headlights connected by an LED bar and a large air intake on the bumper. Adding to its modern and upscale look is an aerodynamic silhouette, smooth-flowing lines, retractable door handles and a single tail light unit.

However, the colour palette receives a new Purple option, joining the existing Green, Black, White, Light Grey, and Dark Grey choices. 

Dimensions

Leapmotor also kept things familiar in terms of size, as the upgraded EV measures 4,739 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, the same as before. The wheelbase also remains the same at 2,825 mm.

Drivetrain, range, and charging

The new Leapmotor C10 is equipped with an advanced 800V high-voltage system, enabling faster and more efficient battery charging. In addition, it now features a more powerful 220 kW electric motor and a larger battery pack, resulting in an extended driving range.

Here are the different drivetrain options available with the 2025 Leapmotor C10 in China - 

• Leapmotor C10 BEV 

The pure electric versions come in two electric motor options - 220 kW and 170 kW. The new and more powerful 220 kW trim takes 5.9 seconds to run from zero to 100 kmph, while the older 170 kW unit still completes the task in 7.29 seconds.

As for the battery, there are two lithium iron phosphate pack options - 69.9 kWh and 74.9 kWh, offering estimated driving ranges of 530 km and 605 km (approx 495 km WLTP), respectively.

With the shift from a 400V to an 800V electrical architecture, the car’s battery now charges at a faster pace; it takes just 16 minutes to go from 30% to 80% SoC.

• Leapmotor C10 EREV 

For those who are not ready to go full electric, Leapmotor offers an EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) version, in which a petrol engine acts as a generator to charge the battery. Its key specs are as follows - 

• Electric motor: 170 kW 
• Battery: 28.4 kWh LFP – 140 km pure electric range (WLTC)
• Range extender: 1.5L NA petrol engine (70 kW) used as a generator
• Total combined range: Up to 1,020 km with a 50-litre fuel tank

Interior 

The cabin also gets an important change in the form of an upgraded 14.6-inch infotainment system, which now features the Snapdragon 8295 chip instead of the Snapdragon 8155. The latest tech improves system responsiveness and offers a more seamless and intuitive driving experience. 

The upgraded EV comes in two interior shade choices - Orange and Purple, with the following key inclusions - 

• 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel
• Gear shifter behind the flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel
• 840-watt, 12-speaker surround sound audio system
• Connectivity features like satellite navigation, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
• Dual-zone automatic climate control system with built-in PM2.5 filtration
• 50W wireless smartphone charging pad
• 42-inch fixed panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade
• Heated/ventilated powered front seats 
• Ambient interior lighting
• Leap Pilot Driving Assistance pack, including 17 active driver assistance functions offering Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities

Price

As mentioned above, Leapmotor is now more affordable than earlier. The new prices are -

• Leapmotor C10 BEV price starts at CNY 122,800 (RM 73k) and goes up to CNY 142,800 (RM 85k).
• Leapmotor C10 EREV price ranges from 122,800 (RM 73k) - 132,800 (RM 79k). 

With a reduced price and enhanced specifications, the compelling Leapmotor C10 is now more accessible to customers. Deliveries will begin on May 20 in China, with a preview scheduled for the Hong Kong Auto Show next month.

Leapmotor C10 in Malaysia

Stellantis Malaysia offers the pre-facelift Leapmotor C10 in a sole Design variant, priced at RM 159,000. It comes equipped with a rear-drive electric motor that generates a maximum power of 160 kW and a peak torque of 320 Nm. Feeding the motor is a 69.9 kWh battery pack, enabling the EV to cruise up to 424 km on a full charge.
