All-new Ford Ranger Wildtrak got ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ award at VOTY 2018
KUALA LUMPUR: The Ranger is one of the most talked about vehicles of Ford, and its popularity has hiked ever since the company launched the new Wildtrak 2.2L variant. Taking advantage of its growing status, Ford recently announced the ‘Ford for Food’ online game contest that features the all-new 2018 Ranger Wildtrak.

Recognising its capabilities and strength are Malaysia automotive website, Drive Safe and Fast, and Allianz General Insurance Company Berhad. Jointly, they have named the new Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L ‘Pick of the Year’. On receiving the award, Syed Muzri Syed Faiz, Managing Director of Sime Darby Auto Connexion expressed his happiness saying “We are thrilled to add this prestigious endorsement to the overwhelming feedback from Malaysian customers who appreciate the Ranger’s durability, practicality, and advanced technology and features.”
If you haven’t checked the new Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L yet then here is all you need to know about the Pick of the Year -
1. Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L retains the company’s ‘Built Ford Tough’ credentials, and also comes with an advanced level of refinement that’s been unseen in the pickup segment
2. While its exterior showcases a bolder and stronger appeal, its interior provides for a contemporary, car-like environment
3. The new Ranger Wildtrak delivers a robust capability thanks to its 2.2-litre Duratorq four-cylinder engine. Also, it showcases class-leading towing capacity of 3,500 kg, exceptional payload capacity, and 800 mm of water-wading capability

4. With the updated powertrain, Ford has set new industry standards in the pickup segment. Along with delivering range-topping power and fuel efficiency, the Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L variant houses a host of advanced features
5. Helping the driver stay connected and in-control, the new Ranger Wildtrak trim is loaded with amenities like SYNC 3 connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Lane Departure Warning and Assist, 4X4 shift-on-the-fly, Forward Collision Alert and Mitigation, Electronic Locking Rear Differential, MyKet system, and Adaptive Cruise Control
All these benefits have helped the Ranger become Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Malaysia. This is evident from the Q1 2018 sales figure according to which the Ford pickup acquired 15.3 percent of the market share in the segment.
The Ranger is available in a total of ten variant options in Malaysia, including Wildtrak, FX4, XL, XLT, and Standard. Thus making sure that it compliments the lifestyle and work requirement of its owner perfectly.
