Touted as the Active Lifestyle Vehicle, the all-new Mazda BT-50 hit the local shores a few days back. The new version of the pickup truck comes with a bolder design, better on-the-road comforts, powerful performance, uncompromising safety, and whatnot.     Engine specification

    As the name implies, the base variant is powered by a 1.9-litre turbodiesel inline-four generating a maximum power output of 150 PS at 3,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 350 Nm between 1,800 - 2,600 rpm. The top-spec model, on the other hand, gets its energy from a 3.0-litre turbodiesel unit providing 188 hp at 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm 1,800 - 2,600 rpm. Both engines are mated to the same 6-Speed Automatic transmission and 4WD system.

    The all-new Mazda BT-50 is a well-protected pickup equipped with the same leading-edge safety features available in modern-day passenger cars. Both variants come with the seven SRS airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, Hill Launch Assist, and Hill Descent Control as standard. For advanced safety, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert bits are also available with both versions.

    On top of these, the top-spec High Plus also gets Multi Collision Brake, Automatic High Beam, Lane Departure Warning System, Forward Collision Warning, and Auto Emergency Braking.
