Another safe and sensible supercar, Volvo S60 Polestar V8 in KL City Grand Prix

Kuala Lumpur: Polestar's Magnus Skeppstedt revealed Volvo S60 Polestar V8 which will take part in KL Grand Prix to be held in the city. With insight over this distinctive and curvy supercar, he also shared the information regarding the launch of Volvo-owned tuner's plans (chassis and aesthetic parts) by the year 2016.

Bragged with fantastic looks, Volvo S60 Polestar V8 supercar is engineered with powerful engine house that capitulates the vehicle to perform a Herculean task. The S60 Polestar V8SC equipped with 4989 cc engine capacity, V8 generates a total of 650 HP. This extensive power output churned out from the engine unit is directly sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission.

Weighing 1,400 kg, this beast is cocooned in a combination of steel and carbon fibre. It comes at halt by six-piston gripping massive 395 mm disc brakes in the front and four-piston 355 mm at the back. Furthermore, double wishbones, adjustable dampers and 18-inch wheels are grounded in the Supercar for a safe and adventurous ride.

Comparing the whole dynamics of the vehicle, it has no road car siblings apart from the appearance. Henceforth, the V8 Supercars have a different class and outlook to lead the road in one's own style. Other car racers which are in town for a demo performance are concomitant to each other, with the inaugural KL City Grand Pix. Including blue Volvo, the other Aussie Supercars are Holden Commodore VF (Red Bull), Ford Falcon FG(Pepsi Max), the Nismo Nissan Altima and aMercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Close to it, you are also provided with a similar option, the Volvo S60 Polestar, which is triggered with a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine performance. You get a brisk performance of 345 HP and 500 Nm of torque, with power going to all section via a Haldex all-wheel drive system. You may also experience its broad spread of power and surprising rev, getting introduced to acceleration count of mere 5 seconds breaching 0-100kmph of speed mark. The top speed is limited to 250 for the car.

Another giant, V60 wagon gets new springs, Ohlins shock absorbers, large Brembos and bespoke 20-inch alloys. In addition, a wind aerodynamic package is also offered on-the-roll that includes splitters, a rear diffuser and deck spoiler.

Sermonizing facts about the real appearance of the vehicle in Malaysia, it's hard to see one as there are only 750 units available of the vehicle in the market currently. Although, the Polestar 1.6L, T4 engine can be seen on the roads, with the capability of churning out extra 20 HPs and 45 Nm for RM5,944, announced in May. Suspension, body kit, exhaust and interior enhancements are also expected to reach Malaysia by in 2016.
