Volvo Car Malaysia extends free data connectivity for MY22 and MY23 owners

KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Car Malaysia has extended the complimentary Volvo Car Connect Plus data service by one year for owners of MY22 and MY23 models. Previously known as Digital Services, this package is now branded as Volvo Car Connect Plus and is offered alongside the latest Google-built-in features.

That means the owners of model-year 2022 and 2023 Volvo cars will receive a free data subscription for an additional year when their current package expires. It aligns older models with the new Volvo car purchases (2024 and onwards), which come with up to five years’ complimentary data connectivity. 

The extension, applicable to the following Volvo models, will happen automatically and does not require a software update or SIM card replacement.

What does Volvo Car Connect Plus offer?

The Volvo Car Connect Plus enables tether-free media streaming, over-the-air updates, and seamless integration with Google’s software services such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store.

Volvo Car Connect Plus also supports advanced computing and AI-driven safety systems for Volvo’s next-gen EVs, like the EX90 and ES90. It enables more data to be processed and analysed over the air, and thus improves machine learning for next-level autonomous driving and real-world road safety scenarios.

“Customers who were early adopters can now have further peace of mind knowing that they, too, can enjoy a full five years of free data access without the hassle of subscribing to a new plan in the next few months,” she added.
