Audi A3 Sedan facelift debuts in Malaysia with a sole engine variant

KUALA LUMPUR: The Audi A3 Sedan facelift has finally stepped in the Malaysian territory. Three years ago the A3 range received a number of updates that include revamped design and a wide range of equipment with many features, which can also be found in this new Audi sedan. However, the A3 Sedan will be available in a single variant in terms of the powertrain.

The new A3 flaunts a large metal grille that covers almost the entire front fascia. The hexagonal grille also houses the brand’s logo and the number plate. Design tweaks are visible on the LED headlamps, which are now slimmer and have sharp edges. The bonnet and the side profiles are clean with fewer character lines. The car rides on standard 18-inch five-double-spoke alloy wheels wrapped with 225/40 profile tyres.

The rear end of the facelift sports refurbished LED taillights with new graphics followed by a bumper with more pronounced lower inserts. Moreover, the lower precincts are marked by dual exhaust pipes that are placed together at the left corner.

On the inside, the dashboard features a 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit instrument display and an MMI Navigation plus infotainment system. The latter gets a new 7.0-inch panel, replacing the previous 5.8-inch unit. The MMI system is backed by MMI touch and an eight-speaker sound system. The Audi A3 specs sheet also includes a dual-zone air-conditioning system, power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, Comfort key, and Audi drive select.

Under the hood, the sedan is armed with a 1.4-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder, petrol engine that delivers a maximum power of 150 hp within a rev range of 5,000 - 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 250 Nm between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm. The vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph within 8.2 seconds before touching the limit of 224 kmph.

The Audi A3 Sedan price is  RM 239,900 (without insurance). One will also get a five-year warranty alongside unlimited mileage warranty.
