Bentley Continental GT for rally sports teased

KUALA LUMPUR: The British auto brand has taken it to Twitter to tease the new rally-ready Continental GT in bright blue paint. The Twitter post reads “Spotted today in Kitzbühel, Austria...anyone want to guess what this is? We’ll reveal all on Tuesday…” It asks us to wait until Tuesday when the mystery will be unfolded.

The company posted the image on Twitter a day before the 2020 Hahnenkamm Alpine Ski World Cup concluded in Kitzbühel, Austria. It is to be noted that it’s the same image that was posted by Bomber, a ski company in the US and a Bentley collaborator, on 25th Jan on Instagram showing the rally-ready Continental GT from a different angle with a big Bomber decal.

The image posted by Bomber shows the Continental GT with a ski rack on the roof, a light bar at the front fascia and “C. Munnings” on the rear window along with the British flag. It is likely that “C. Munnings” symbolizes to Catie Munnings, a British rally racer aged 22 who began her career in 2016 in the European Rally Championship.

Other changes that caught attention include a red tow hook poking out at the lower part of the front grille, bright blue livery, raised suspension, black plastic cladding on the fenders and deep tread design - ideal for slippery conditions. You can even see the decals from Pirelli and Mobil 1.

This is not the first time an automotive brand has brought its set of wheels to tackle the ski slope. In 2016, a Dutch racer, Max Verstappen drove Red Bull F1 car around a slope in Kitzbühel and in 2017, it was a MotoGP bike that tackled the slope.
