BMW Group Malaysia Launched Tyre Warranty Programme

Kuala Lumpur: BMW Group Malaysia has launched a BMW tyre warranty programme, which includes 24 months of warranty period offered on all BMW vehicles and BMW star- marked tyres, sold at BMW dealerships across the nation from 1st January 2016. The star- marked tyres are produced with leading tyre manufacturers around the globe. These tyres meet the uncompromising standards of BMW and offer superior driving dynamics, safety, comfort and economy. This is the second programme of the premium automaker in the month of January. Earlier this month, the BMW also organised a BMW Premium Selection (BPS) to sell used BMW cars.

The 24 months warranty provides protection against the damaging of a tyre with any pointed or sharp objects such as broken glass or nail, or by hitting the edge of a kerb or pothole. It also covers balancing and tyre fitment cost. The warranty is applicable only if there is no existing warranty or insurance that covers the vehicle tyres.

In order to claim the compensation, the damaged tyre will be inspected by the authorised dealer, who will find out the cause of damage and will calculate the current market value of the tyre. The compensation price will be based upon the tread depth and the retail price rate of the tyre during the time of change. According to the company, 100% compensation will be given to those who have tyre depth more than 7mm and no compensation will be offered for a tread depth of less than 3 mm. The claim will not be approved by the manufacturer in the following cases: such as uneven wear, tear occurred due to false adjustment of the track and camber angle, tyre damaged because of inaccurate tyre pressure, defective suspensions.

Commenting on the BMW Tyre Warranty Programme, Han Sang Yun, the new MD & and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia stated: “Throughout history, we at the BMW Group have always been committed to providing our customers with the first-class service that delivers the best-in-class ownership experience. With our new tyre warranty programme, we are providing our customers another industry-first product and service where our valued customers have the freedom to further enjoy sheer driving pleasure on any road at any time with peace of mind ownership experience.”

The warranty period does not include the wheel alignment and towing cost because these tyres are blessed with run-flat technology, so, these tyres are designed to withstand the effects of deflation and make it enables to cover 80kms approximately after getting damaged with a maximum speed of 80 mph. Besides this, the warranty programme only includes personal vehicles and is not available for commercial purposes.

The warranty will provide the users with an authentic and genuine assurance as it is planned to keep the customers upfront. Offers like 100% compensation and wide range protection will attract a lot of drivers. The scheme will also act as a foundation of trust building among users for the company.

Besides this, BMW Group is also known as a self-proclaimed leader in the inter-cultural events. Recently, the BMW Group Malaysia has donated Engines to Automotive Institutions to enhance the engineering expertise among students and sets an example to other manufacturers.

The warranty will not be applicable and terminated automatically if the BMW vehicle and star-marked tyre are purchased from outside the country or with commercial resale.
