BMW X2, 3 Series, and Z4 Sunrise Edition revealed, exclusive for Japan

KUALA LUMPUR: The German automaker, BMW, showcased a trio of limited-edition models based on the concept of “The sun will rise again”. The Sunrise Edition moniker is available for BMW X2, BMW 3 Series, and BMW Z4 roadster. The concept features aesthetic upgrades that are remarkably Japanese and depicts the Land of the Rising Sun, as the models are exclusively available for Japan.

According to BMW, the main idea behind the concept is that they are "made in hopes of a day when the world will regain its spirit and start running."

All the three models are finished in Alpine White and feature a red line running across the wing mirrors and along the base of the doors. For a great deal of equipment, the automaker has added M Sport packages as standard comprising M-Sport seatbelts and 19-inch M light-alloy wheels. 

BMW 3-Series Sunrise Edition is based on the 320d xDrive M Sport and carries a price tag of ¥6,870,000 (RM 278,861). BMW will build its 200 examples. This special edition is also available in one more exterior finishing; Melbourne Red in place of Alpine White, although the production is restricted to just 50 units at a higher price tag of ¥7,030,000 (RM 285,355).

Coming to BMW X2 Sunrise Edition, it is based on the xDrive18d M Sport model. Along with the M Sport packages, it also has an M aerodynamics package, leather steering wheel, rear spoiler, and Individual high gloss shadow line. It is priced at ¥5,540,000 (RM 224,885), and production is capped at 200 units.

BMW Z4 Sunrise Edition has sDrive20i M Sport as its base. It is priced at ¥7,400,000 (RM 300,388), while the automaker intends to build just 50 units of this one.

The X2 and Z4 Sunrise Editions will be available in the showrooms from next month while the 3-Series will arrive later in the year. With this concept, we also hope that everything will get back to normal soon.
