The year 2022 saw the launch of several electric vehicles in the Malaysian market. Part of the kit was two Chinese EVs - the Ora Good Cat and the BYD Atto 3. While the former landed on Malaysia shores on 28th Nov 2022, the latter arrived shortly after on 8th Dec 2022. Thus, making the two fairly new for the market and difficult for a prospective buyer looking to buy an EV.

In this article, our goal is to find which of the two Chinese electric vehicles is better - the Ora Good Cat or BYD Atto 3?

Both BYD and Ora set up their operation in the country and launched their cars in the country this year, thanks to the Malaysian government’s favorable taxation. The two automakers have introduced respective EVs at reasonable prices, thus making the buying decision all the more difficult.

Ora Good Cat’s standard equipment kit includes - 18-inch alloy wheels, 215/50R1 tyres, tyre repair kit, automatic headlamps, LED tail lights, an LED fog lamp, automatic wipers, electrically adjustable side mirrors, and a panoramic sunroof. The cabin, on the other hand, gets a suede leather dashboard, synthetic leather seat upholstery, two USB ports at the front, a multi-function steering wheel, one USB port at the rear, one USB for a digital video recorder, and one power outlet. Not to forget the wireless charger, PM 2.5 air filter, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and manually adjustable front passenger seat.
