Malaysia gets the first batch of the GWM Ora Good Cat

KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motors has recently launched its first model, the Ora Good Cat, in Malaysia. The Chinese EV is said to be the cheapest electric vehicle in the local market retailing at a starting price of RM 139,800. Well, the first batch of this affordable electric car has recently landed on the local shores and is now ready for delivery, as confirmed by the automaker.

GWM Malaysia further announced that the EV is now available for viewing and test drive at the designated authorised dealerships, including Glenmarie, Puchong, and Penang.

• The EV is offered in two variants - 400 Pro and 500 Ultra, priced at RM 139,800 and RM 169,800, respectively
• Both variants are powered by the same electric motor churning out 143 PS of maximum power and 210 Nm of peak torque, enabling the EV to hit the 100 kmph mark in 7.9 seconds. The top speed is rated at 152 kmph 

• The battery pack offered with the base-spec 400 Pro is a 47.8 kWh unit providing a range of 400 km (on the NEDC cycle), while the 500 Ultra comes equipped with a 63.1 kWh battery returning up to 500 km of range
• Standard equipment kit comprises LED tail lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable side mirrors, 7.0-inch digital driver display, 10.25-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity, 360-degree surround-view monitor, wireless charging pad, electronic parking brake, 6-way electrically-adjustable driver seats, automatic climate control, synthetic leather upholstery, six airbags, adaptive cruise control, and several advanced driver assistance systems

• Colour options on offer with the 400 Pro are - Coral Blue, Hamilton White, Sun Black, and Mars Red. Two exclusive shades for the 500 Ultra are Verdant Green with a White roof and Hazel Wood Beige with a Brown roof
• With each purchase, the automaker offers a free portable home charger, a 5-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year/180,000 km battery warranty, and five complimentary labour service
