BYD Certified pre-owned EV programme launched in Malaysia, first outlet opens in Glenmarie

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese EV giant BYD entered the Malaysian market in 2022 and has since been one of the top-selling EV brands in the country. Now, after almost four years, BYD Sime Motors has launched the first BYD Certified, the official certified pre-owned EV programme. 

The first BYD Certified outlet in Malaysia is located at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie. Notably, this is also the first such outlet in the Asia Pacific region.

BYD certified pre-owned vehicle programme: Key highlights 

• The programme offers a one-stop platform for buying, selling and trading-in certified used BYD EVs
• Under this programme, every BYD electric car undergoes a comprehensive inspection check, battery health assessment and refurbishment using the brand’s genuine parts.
• Notably, the BYD Certified outlet offers certified pre-owned BYD EVs with verified service history, warranty coverage, financing options, and after-sales support, making it a safer way to buy a used model without worry. 
• The programme also offers a 5-day ‘Buy Back Assurance', which means a full buy-back will be provided if undisclosed major damage or mileage tampering is found.
• For existing BYD owners or sellers, this programme provides a trusted and convenient way to trade-in or sell their car for a better deal. This official trade-in channel offers professional vehicle valuation and handles certification, financing and ownership transfer under one roof. 

BYD Certified: 5 assurance pillars

The programme is built upon the following five assurance pillars, ensuring that every BYD Certified pre-owned vehicle meets the highest quality standards -

• 170-point professional vehicle inspection
• Mileage not exceeding 100,000 kilometres
• Vehicle age not exceeding 4 years
• 4 NOs guarantee inspection (NO major accidents, NO fire damage, NO flood damage, and NO odometer tampering)
• Genuine parts (Restored with genuine BYD parts and factory-approved workmanship)
