Key Highlights of the BYD M6

The BYD M6 is a three-row seven seater electric MPV designed to meet the needs of modern families, with its launch positioning it as a direct competitor to traditional ICE MPVs but with the advantage of zero emissions.

    Early Bird offer

As usual, early buyers will get some rewards and for the BYD M6, the first 300 bookings of the Extended variant nationwide are eligible to receive a complimentary Home Charger.

Additionally, the first 100 customers who book any variants of the BYD M6 at the Dataran Karnival Shah Alam event will receive a RM800 charging credit.

    Range and Charging

The BYD M6 is powered by BYD’s cutting-edge Blade battery technology, available in two options the Standard and Extended.

The Standadrd comes with a 55.4 kWh battery providing up to 420 km of range and the Extended comes with a larger 71.8 kWh battery offering up to 530 km of range, both NEDC-rated. Charging is quick and convenient, with the Standard supporting 89 kW DC fast charging while the Extended offers 115kW, capable of reaching 80% in around 40 minutes. As with all their other EVs, the AC charging rate is a lowly 7kW.

    Design and Dimensions

Inspired by the BYD Dynasty Series, the M6 stands out with its sleek, modern aesthetic. The front grille features the signature Dragon Face 3.0 design, flanked by LED headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs).

The wing-shaped front bumper inserts and full-width silver bar with the BYD script further enhance the MPV's sporty look. At the rear, the M6 boasts full-width tail lights with a subtle chrome strip, complementing its aluminium side sills and 17-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels.

In terms of size, the M6 measures 4,710 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,690 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. This makes it slightly larger than the Perodua Alza, ensuring ample space for passengers and luggage.

    Interior and Features

The cabin of the BYD M6 is as impressive as its exterior, with a modern and tech-filled design aimed at providing comfort and convenience for families.

A 12.8-inch rotating infotainment unit sits at the center of the dashboard, offering Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other notable features include a five-inch multi-info display, a Qi wireless charging pad, faux leather upholstery, keyless entry, and a push-button start system.

Comfort is further enhanced by power-adjustable, ventilated front seats, automatic air conditioning, a panoramic glass roof, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

Safety equipment in the BYD M6 is also quite good, with six airbags, stability control, and a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). All variants come standard with TPMS, ABS, ESC and TCS.

The Extended variant however gets additional safety and convenient features, which include Autonomous emergency Braking, Intelligent Cruise Control, Front and Rear Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Assist.

    Performance

As mentioned, the BYD M6 comes with two single-motor variants. The Standard model produces 163 PS and 310 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds.

The higher-spec version delivers 204 PS and the same 310 Nm of torque, achieving the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 8.6 seconds. This performance makes it a capable and responsive family MPV.

    Colours

The BYD M6 is available in four different colourways: Crystal White, Ink Stone Blue, Cosmos Black and Harbour Grey

    Warranty

The M6 is backed with an extensive warranty package which includes a 6 years or 150,000 warranty for the vehicle, 8 years or 160,000 kilometres with a State of Health above 70 per cent battery warranty and 8 years or 150,000 kilometres drive unit warranty.

    Want to try it out?

Following its launch, the BYD M6 will be on display at Dataran Karnival, Perkarangan Stadium Shah Alam, from October 18 to 20, 2024, between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Visitors can experience and test drive the latest EV and take part in family-friendly activities powered by the BYD V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology. This is your chance to experience firsthand the innovation and practicality that the BYD M6 brings to the Malaysian market.

With competitive pricing expected to be revealed soon, the BYD M6 is set to be a strong contender in Malaysia’s growing electric vehicle landscape, offering families an eco-friendly yet luxurious option for their daily commutes and long road trips alike.

    Offers

Besides the launch specific early bird offer for the M6, BYD is also offering a Year-End Sales Campaign for other models where customers can take advantage of interest rates as low as 0.88%, a 3 year standard service package, free road tax, a home charger and a special rebate if they register their vehicle before the end of the month.
