According to the brand, CSH is Chery’s latest fifth-generation electrified platform, combining EV-like performance with hybrid practicality.
At its core is a 1.5-litre turbocharged Dedicated Hybrid Engine capable of 44.5% thermal efficiency—claimed to be one of the highest in the industry. Together with an electric motor, the setup delivers a combined output of 255 kW and 525 Nm.

Supporting all this is a high-capacity lithium iron phosphate battery that’s IP68-rated, capable of enduring temperatures up to 95°C and recharges from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes with fast charging. Chery also says the setup can deliver up to 1,200 km of combined driving range.
Battery safety is a key highlight, with the company introducing what it calls a Guardian Battery Safety Protection System—designed to offer multilayer protection for various driving environments.

The event wasn’t just about the explanation of the tech; but it also served as the second local preview for the TIGGO 7 PHEV CSH and TIGGO 8 PHEV CSH, after being displayed at the 2025 Malaysia Autoshow earlier in the year. Both plug-in hybrid SUVs are expected to hit the market soon, with more details, including pricing, to be revealed later.
Chery says these models will cater to a broad mix of buyers—from urban users and families to retirees who want something capable for long drives. With petrol, full EV, hybrid, and now plug-in hybrid options in its local lineup, Chery seems intent on offering a bit of everything.
“Whether it’s for city driving, eco-conscious commuting, or long-distance travel, Chery now offers a complete range,” added Chew.

To prove the system’s durability and safety, Chery has embarked on a Global Safety Challenge involving its Super Hybrid battery tech.
The programme kicked off in China with extreme crash and structural integrity tests involving rollover scenarios, vertical drops, side intrusions, and prolonged salt spray exposure.
Next came tropical flood testing in Indonesia, where the battery was submerged in a 1-metre seawater tank for over 53 hours before being reinstalled into a vehicle and driven, proving its sealing and chemical stability under high-moisture conditions.
The challenge will continue in Mexico with underbody protection tests over rugged highland terrain. Chery also plans to expand testing to South Africa and Brazil to simulate other challenging real-world conditions.

With a mix of EV-style performance, long-range usability, and a safety-first approach, the Super Hybrid platform could become a key pillar in Chery’s attempt to gain a stronger foothold in the electrified segment here.
