DSK Industry to launch its first EV, the Murni
KUALA LUMPUR: DSK Industry has made its way towards launching its very first EV (Electric Vehicle) in the country. The company has already listed a car on its website, which is named, the Murni. Meanwhile, the carmaker has also claimed itself as the “third Malaysian National car manufacturer”.
Design wise, it seems to be inspired by the Nordic industrial design. It has a closed air intake grille and LED daytime running lights in C-shape. It gets two slim LED tail lights at the rear and rides on dual-tone alloys.
From the images on the DSK Industry’s website, one can easily identify that the car features a left-hand drive configuration. It has a freestanding touchscreen head unit of 10-inch that is accompanied by a digital instrument panel of eight-inch. The Murni comes with the D·OS smart car system, which is claimed by the DSK industry as its independently self-made system. Moreover, the car will arrive with a lot of quality features such as facial recognition system that helps to unlock and start the car.
The all-new DSK Murni is similar to the Chinese car SiTech DEV1, which is a sub-brand of FAW. In the Murni, is a 55 kW high-performance permanent magnet synchronous motor, which can speed up from 0 to 50 kmph in just 4.8 seconds. The motor provides 170 Nm of peak torque. The 1,120 kg Murni consumes 13.1 kWh charge to cover 100 km.
The Murni comes with a 100,000 mAh battery and it takes just 40 minutes to refill the battery via an AC charger of 6.6 kW. However, the battery takes a time of 5.5 hours to refill via a regular charger. Precisely, the battery provides an overall driving range of 350 km.
To prevent the battery from over-discharge or overcharging it has an onboard Battery Management System. Also, the car has an intelligent thermal management system, which helps to regulate the battery’s operating temperature by heating it up in cool days or decreasing the temperature in the hot day.
