Ford Focus RS Production Started in Germany

Kuala Lumpur: Ford has finally started producing its much-anticipated Focus RS at Saarlouis, Germany production line. It may mark the arrival of this Ford hot hatch in US by spring 2016. Apart from Ford Focus RS, the US lineup would also be joined by F-150 Raptor and Ford GT supercar. Earlier in October 2015, new performance figures and a new 'Stall Recovery' system were also announced for this car in US. After making a debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, this car managed to grab much attention from auto lovers worldwide and in Malaysia as well.

Ford Performance team has geared up lately and as a result, Ford Focus RS comes out to be one of the 12 cars which would be offered by Ford by the end of 2020. Rumours also suggest that an extra-hot RS could be launched in near future with reduced weight and beefed up chassis. Talking about Focus RS, under the hood it would be powered by a new 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine which is capable of delivering a maximum power of 350 hp along with a peak torque 474 Nm. Further, it is mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to all the four wheels. Further, from a position of halt, it can reach an acceleration of 100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds which is decent enough for a hatchback.

This RS model would also be getting company's new drift mode which provides controlled oversteer drifts. Apart from that, its all-wheel drive system and Dynamic Torque Vectoring provides better handling, grip and cornering speed. Moreover, we can also expect this car to be linked to Ford’s Sync Connect smartphone app which was launched in November last year. The pre-orders for this car has already started, and deliveries could be expected by mid 2016. Although Focus RS price is yet to be announced, but you can expect it to be around $36,605 approx.
