Ford Ranger Special Edition launched in Malaysia; limited to 100 units

Kuala Lumpur: Sime Darbay Motors, an official Ford dealer in Malaysia has announced the launch of Ford Ranger Special Edition with a limited production number of just 100 units. Ford Ranger has always been considered to be one of the most practical and usable pick-ups. This four-wheel drive can complete any uphill task given to it.

Previously Ford Ranger was available in Malaysia in three engine variants, a 2.2-litre XLT diesel engine with an option of automatic or manual transmission and a 3.2-litre XLT diesel engine with manual transmission. But this limited edition model would be based on the 2.2-litre XLT diesel engine coupled with a 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission which sends power to all the four wheels. This robust engine churns out a maximum power of 150 PS along with a peak torque of 375 Nm. It is also integrated with direct injection fuel system which helps it to deliver an impressive fuel economy.

The most striking feature of this limited edition is its distinct black grille which has company's name engraved on it in a huge font. Apart from that there is a stylish sports bar and a rear bumper covered in black paint. Towards the side profile, side steps have been provided for easy entry and exit into the car along with embossed fenders to give it a 3D look. The automaker has made this car available in two exterior colours namely Black Mica and True Red.

Moving to the interiors, it is integrated with a seven-inch touch-screen head-unit which is further assisted with a navigation system and reverse camera. Its black leather upholstery beautifully complements the sporty black interior. Additional safety features in this car include electronic stability control and Isofix attachments. This limited edition car has been rolled out with a price tag of RM108,200 on-the-road (excluding insurance) and includes a 3-year warranty.
