Geely SX11 official images are out

KUALA LUMPUR: Geely, the Chinese automotive giant, has revealed the official photographs of its upcoming B-segment crossover codenamed as SX11. Earlier, the model was in talks due to the leaked images. As per the reports, it is expected to be named the Xing Yue. The model will go on sale in the local market by the end of this ongoing year.

While looking at the images, the SX11 gets an angular design, with the front bestowed with upswept headlamps, ‘expanding cosmos’ grille and a new chrome bar that goes all the way to the headlights on both ends, surrounding them in the most sophisticated manner. Lower down the front bumper are the large air intakes that impart an aggressive character.

The side profile is dominated by a pronounced front fender bulge, blackened D-pillars, a kink on the C-pillar and bold, prominent character lines. The multi-spoke alloy wheels add sparkle to the crossover. The rear section, on the other hand, gets an integrated rear spoiler, trapezoidal tail lights, chrome bar in the centre and dual-exhaust setup lower down the bumper.

The SX11 uses the company’s new B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) and measures 4,330 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,609 mm in height while sporting a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, as reported by autohome.com.cn.

From the inside, the SX11 is blessed with an angular dashboard design which is quite unlikely Geely. The dashboard gets rectangular air vents, floating widescreen display at the centre, a flat-bottom steering wheel, an electronic gear lever and a fully-digital instrument display.

Geely SX11 rear

Under the hood, the SX11 gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces a max power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 255 Nm. The power mill has been developed in collaboration with Volvo. It is likely to get a 7-speed DCT and is claimed to travel from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds.

There are possibilities that the new SX11 will make its way to Malaysia as a Proton, hints have been dropped by the automaker but nothing has been confirmed as yet. So, stay tuned with us to get more updates regarding the same.
