HARMAN introduces three new In-Car concepts for gamers and audio enthusiasts

KUALA LUMPUR: These days, consumers view their cars as a ‘third living space’ instead of only a mode of transportation. Embracing this idea, the premium audio systems and Connected car technology provider HARMAN brought three new concepts to the table.

Ahead of CES 2021, the company used its ExPLORE event as a platform to showcase the new assortment of technologies - the three different ExP (experience concepts), residing in a high-tech interior mockup.

HARMAN new in-car Gaming intense Max concept

Starting with the first, that is a “Gaming Intense Max concept” designed to keep the game lovers occupied while they are waiting in the car. The concept is backed by the research results which revealed that people normally play games on their mobile phones during downtime. The Gaming Intense Max will transform the car into a gaming console, but how?

When the car is parked and the gaming mode is on, the steering wheel retracts, and the widescreen display and HARMAN Personal Audio Headrest together come into action for a gaming console feel. This ExP leverages the brand’s Scalable Compute, 5G TCU, and Ignite SDP for a fast and truly immersive gaming experience. It also uses ClearChat technology to reduce echo and background noise during gameplay and In-Car Communication for a clear, two-way communication between the persons sitting in the vehicle.

HARMAN new in-car Creative Studio concept

Next on the revolutionary concepts list is a “Creator Studio concept” made for karaoke fans. It leverages a variety of technologies like Personal Audio Headrest for fully immersive sound, automatic adjustment of audio levels, interior lighting setup for most flattering mode, and multiple cameras to record the best angles. All virtual assistant tools will be also there to edit the captured content for final publishing.

HARMAN new in-car Drive Live Concert concept

Last but not least is a concept for live concert fans, called “Drive-Live Concert.” It transforms the vehicle into a live music venue, providing thrills and interactions of an in-person performance with no crowd and pandemic risk. To bring this experience, the main display extends to provide amazing visuals while the steering wheel retracts for more space to enjoy the show. At the same time, the integrated in-vehicle platform enables full personalization. It involves HARMAN premium audio 5G connection and cloud services.

“What differentiates Harman from others is that we leverage our deep understanding of consumer needs and in-vehicle preferences, while also doubling down on HARMAN’s experience-driven approach instead of focusing solely on individual technologies, OEMs will benefit from advanced personalization and technological synergies, while drivers will enjoy a connected experience built purposefully for their needs,” said Christian Sobottka, Executive Vice President & President of HARMAN Automotive.

We hope these exciting concepts will turn into reality soon.
