Hyundai Ioniq 5 N premiers in ASEAN - Won't be long till it arrives in Malaysia!

KUALA LUMPUR:  Hyundai has made a robust comeback in Thailand, and the latest marvel to entice the people of the land of smiles that it means business, is the ASEAN debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) of the high-performance variant of the Ioniq5, the Ioniq 5 N, setting the scene for a future launch. 

The Ioniq 5 N, a dynamic blend of hatchback and SUV traits, showcases significant enhancements over the standard version, especially in terms of power.

Equipped with dual motors, the performance model boasts an awe-inspiring output of 609 PS and 740 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 260 km/h. This performance is further amplified by the N Grin Boost feature, pushing the power to 650 PS and 770 Nm, enabling an even quicker sprint time.

Hyundai didn't stop at sheer power; the Ioniq 5 N also introduces an array of specialized features aimed at enhancing the driving experience, especially for an electric vehicle.

This includes the N Torque Distribution for dynamic power allocation, N Race function catering to both sprint and endurance modes, and the oh so brilliant and innovative N e-Shift for a simulated gearshift feel. The performance vehicle also brings drama to electric driving with the N Active Sound+, mimicking powerful engine sounds through an advanced audio system.

For those seeking a thrill, the N Drift Optimiser and N Pedal features add layers of excitement and control to the driving dynamics, supported by a strengthened structure and advanced suspension setup for unmatched performance. The introduction of a fourth-generation 84 kWh battery ensures a blend of exhilarating performance with practical range.

The Ioniq 5 N also boasts a more imposing presence than its standard counterpart, with a stance that's wider and lower, exuding aggression and sportiness. Enhanced fender flares discreetly accommodate the broader wheels, and the front bumper has been redesigned for a bolder look, featuring expansive air intakes, a striking splitter, and eye-catching black and red accents. The design is completed by a large rear diffuser, adorned with distinctive chequered-flag reflectors, rounding off its formidable appearance.

Inside, the Ioniq 5 undergoes a remarkable transformation, evolving from its spacious, loft-like ambiance to a more focused and functional cockpit. Highlighting this shift are the sporty enhancements: a sleek three-spoke N steering wheel equipped with mode-specific buttons, sturdy metal pedals, and N-branded side sill plates, complementing the race-inspired bucket seats adorned with illuminated N logos, underscoring the vehicle's performance pedigree.

The interior has also been further refined with the replacement of the sliding center console with a fixed unit, thoughtfully integrated with knee pads. This upgrade is designed to provide added support and comfort for your knees during dynamic cornering maneuvers.

As Hyundai continues to expand its presence in the ASEAN market, the Ioniq 5 N's debut hints at an exciting future for performance electric vehicles in the region, promising a blend of high-speed exhilaration with the practicalities of EV technology.
