Hyundai premiers 'Vision G' Coupe concept

Kuala Lumpur: Hyundai recently unveiled its new 'Vision G Concept Coupe' in Los Angeles which is a hint towards its next-generation Genesis luxury vehicles. The concept was described as Hyundai's inspiration for its “family of future premium products that promise luxury, performance and style with the value and responsibility that is the foundation of Hyundai's brand.” This concept is also rumored to make a debut at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Hyundai's president and chief design officer, Peter Schreyer said- “The concept was designed with coordinated input from Hyundai design studios around the world, but was led by our team here in U.S.” He further added- “The design is our interpretation of the idea that Hyundai breaths into all of its vehicles.” Moreover, Hyundai has also focused on the notion of 'chivalry' while designing the car. This car represents a true epitome of luxury, the best example being its technology that automatically opens the door like a valet whenever the concerned person approaches the vehicle.

Talking about the exterior, the front fascia consists of a huge grille along with the 'Genesis' insignia embossed above it. Further the concept is highlighted by a long hood, sweptback headlights, high belt-line and massive alloy wheels. It also features a stylish roof-line, dual exhaust pipes and a trunk with an integrated spoiler. This idea of luxury, flows into the four-seated interior as well, with premium ivory-toned leather seats, wood trim and gold accents. Further, the driver-centric car is integrated with a three-spoke steering wheel, digital displays, and a Lexicon audio system.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 5.0-litre Tau V8 engine producing 420 hp at 6000 rpm and 519 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The Tau V8 engine has also made it to the Ward's prestigious Ten Best Engines list three times. Nothing much has been revealed by the automakers yet, but it is being believed that it would have a front-engine and rear-wheel drive configuration.
