iCAUR opens components hub in Shah Alam, kicks off public test drive for 03 SUV

KUALA LUMPUR: iCAUR Malaysia has taken another step towards its official market debut with the opening of the iCAUR Components Hub — a centralised warehouse aimed at bolstering after-sales support and dealer readiness for the all-electric off-road SUV brand.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When is the iCAUR 03 public test drive in Malaysia?

The iCAUR iXPERIENCE Obstacle Drive takes place at Plaza Arkadia, Desa ParkCity from 21 to 24 August 2025, 10am–10pm, with test drives until 7pm.
  • How much will the iCAUR 03 cost in Malaysia?

The iCAUR 03 is expected to be priced between RM145,000 and RM155,000, with bookings open now at RM1,000, fully refundable.
  • The 88,000 sq ft facility, located in Shah Alam’s Hicom Industrial Estate, is managed by Chery Corporate Malaysia and shared with OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia. It began operations in March 2025, months ahead of the iCAUR 03’s launch planned for Q3 this year.

According to iCAUR Malaysia Vice President, Emily Lek, the centralised warehouse is “pivotal in supporting iCAUR’s growing dealership network, which will soon include no fewer than 16 dealer partners nationwide, with further expansions planned in 2026.” She added that the brand’s “Born to Play” philosophy means being ready from day one, with a growing stock of over 10,000 curated spare parts and components backed by Chery’s established global supply chain.

Beyond serving Malaysia, the Components Hub will also support regional after-sales operations as Chery International builds its presence here as a central hub for right-hand drive models in ASEAN.

The facility’s role also aligns with national initiatives under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the National Automotive Policy (NAP) 2020, pushing next-generation vehicle technology and innovation.

Apart from this reassuring news regarding its support in Malaysia, from 21 to 24 August 2025, the iCAUR iXPERIENCE Obstacle Drive will return to Plaza Arkadia, Desa ParkCity, giving the public its first opportunity to test the new iCAUR 03 Two-Wheel Drive (2WD) variant.

This model features a 135kW motor paired with a 65.7kWh battery, offering up to 426 km of range (NEDC). The event will also feature the dual-motor Intelligent Wheel Drive (iWD) variant, which delivers 279 PS and up to 418 km of range.

Running alongside the OMODA | JAECOO SHS Carnival, the iXPERIENCE setup will include the iCAUR ‘Toy Box’ display vehicle, interactive activities, and giveaways. Visitors can take part in the “Guess the Price” contest, redeem Born to Play merchandise, and join on-site challenges.
