Is Lynk & Co 03 planning to enter the ASEAN market?

KUALA LUMPUR: Geely’s sub-brand, Lynk & Co is spreading its wings in the international market. We say so, as one of the cars, the Lynk & C0 03 has been spotted in Thailand raising speculation of its soon ASEAN debut.

The Thai-spied model was wrapped in camouflage and the facelifted 03 can be seen with re-worked front and rear ends.

Built on the Volvo-co developed Compact Modular Architecture, the Lynk & Co 03 is offered in two powertrain options - a 258 PS/350 Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine and a 248PS/545 Nm hybrid powertrain.

As for the car’s Malaysia debut, Geely back in November 2021 confirmed about the Lynk & Co arrival by 2025. The timing coincides with Geely’s wider target of 3.65 million cars to be sold in the same year. Not to forget Geely’s earlier announcement to utilize Proton’s Tanjung Malim plant as their right-range drive production hub.

The Malaysian arrival of Lynk & Co is quite far away and currently on priority is the Smart #1 launch which is scheduled for Q4 2023.
