Isuzu Hicom Malaysia receives ISO certifications for Shah Alam and Pekan branches

Isuzu Hicom Malaysia (IHM) has received two ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) certifications for its Shah Alam and Pekan branches. The two certificates are ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015, awarded for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and Environmental Management System, respectively.

The two certificates are very important for a commercial vehicle manufacturer as they are the confirmation that company gives efforts to obey the rules set by ISO. The ISO 45001:2018 gives proof that occupational health and safety performance is performed to prevent injury and death at the organization. Besides, ISO 14001:2015 also confirms that the company maintains environmental regulations standards, declared by ISO.

Taizo Nakahigashi, Isuzu Hicom Malaysia CEO said, “As a leader in the light, medium, as well as heavy-duty trucks, it is crucial for us to comply with all local and international regulatory requirements. Our effort towards operational improvements, leading to this certification showcases IHM’s commitment to protect our employees, customers, contractors and service providers from work-related accidents.”

He has also added, “We are indeed honoured to be recognised as an automaker that continuously implements efforts to develop products and utilise processes that are more environmentally-friendly and sustainable.”

Speaking of IHM, it is a Malaysian commercial vehicle maker, located in Peramu Jaya Industrial Area in Pekan. The manufacturer operates under the joint venture of Isuzu and DRB-HICOM Berhad and it makes Isuzu commercial automobile including D-Max pick-up truck, F-Series heavy-duty and medium trucks and N-Series light-duty trucks.
