Leapmotor C10 AWD Sports+ Special Edition unveiled - 598 PS, 0-100 kmph in 4 secs

KUALA LUMPUR: Leapmotor has rolled out a punchy version of its mid-size electric SUV, the C10, in Australia. Known as the Leapmotor C10 AWD Sports+ Special Edition, the special model gets a major power bump, AWD setup, a bigger battery, and an upgraded 800V architecture, setting new benchmarks in performance, style, and control.

Delivers 598 PS from a twin-motor setup

While the standard C10 uses a single electric motor with 215 hp and 320 Nm of torque, the AWD Sports+ version is equipped with two electric motors tuned to produce a whopping 598 PS and 760 Nm, pushing the boundaries of electrified performance.

This power-packed EV runs from zero to 100 kmph in 4.0 seconds and achieves a top speed of 190 kmph.

Bigger battery pack, longer range 

Feeding the vehicle’s dual-motor setup is a larger 81.9 kWh LFP battery pack, which offers a cruising range of 437 km on the WLTP cycle. For comparison, the standard model comes with a 69.9kWh battery and has a range of 420 km on a single charge.  

As for charging, the EV supports DC charging speeds of up to 180 kW, which replenishes 30-80 percent of the battery in 22 minutes, thanks to the 800V electrical architecture. 

Intelligent AWD control

The new C10 AWD Sports+ comes with an intelligent AWD control system where the ESP control unit monitors vehicle status and automatically switches between single and dual-motor drive, adapting in real-time to road conditions and driving demands. Thus, ensures an optimal grip and stability on different terrains, be it gravel, rain, snow, or off-road.

Cosmetic tweaks inside and out

Alongside technical upgrades, the special edition C10 also boasts some cosmetic enhancements inside and out, confirming its unique identity. These include - 

• Unique side-profile decals
• Specialised rear badging
• Embroidered floor mats
• Two exclusive exterior finishes - Pearl White (with black Sports+ decals) and Metallic Black (with grey Sports+ graphics)

Feature kit comprises 20-inch alloy wheels, LED auto headlights, a fixed panoramic glass roof, a 14.6-inch infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 12-speaker surround audio system, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Silicone leather seats, a heated steering wheel, a wireless phone charger, LEAP Pilot (L2 ADAS), a 360° camera, and Leapmotor connected services.

Leapmotor C10 AWD Sports+ Special Edition: Price and quantity

The Leapmotor C10 AWD Sports+ Special Edition will only be available as a pure EV (not the REEV) in Australia in a limited quantity of 50 units. The price tag reads $53,888 (approx RM 167k).
