MG Malaysia wraps 2025 on a strong note, enters 2026 with exciting CNY deals

KUALA LUMPUR: The year 2025 was a transformative year for MG Motor Malaysia, marked by successful product launches, sustained sales growth, and Malaysia becoming a key market for the brand regionally. The automaker is now prepared for even greater momentum in 2026.

MG’s 2025 Highlights: Product launches, record sales, and network expansion 

• MG introduced the budget-friendly MG S5 EV SUV in May, followed by the powerful and affordable rear-wheel-drive electric roadster, the MG Cyberster EV, in July.  

• The automaker also rolled out two special models - MG5 X Edition and MG4 101 Edition in October. The latter commemorates the brand’s 101 years of operation.
• Another significant milestone achieved during the year was Malaysia leading MG Cyberster sales in Asia and Oceania (excluding China). This performance placed Malaysia among the global top five markets for MG Cyberster sales, reinforcing the country’s importance within MG’s international strategy.

• In terms of sales, the company recorded m-o-m growth of 20% in October, 9% in November, and an impressive 50% in December, reflecting customers’ growing demand and trust across ICE and BEV segments.
• MG Motor Malaysia also expanded its aftersales network with the opening of 6 new authorised service centres, including MG Old Klang Road, MG Rimbayu, MG Motor Miri, MG Motor Sibu, MG Motor Alor Setar, and MG Motor Sunway. There are now a total of 19 MG authorised service centres nationwide.

MG’s new year promotions 2026 

Drive British Dynamics

MG Motor Malaysia has rolled out a nationwide CNY showroom activation campaign, named Drive British Dynamics. This campaign invites customers to check out the brand’s British Dynamics through its distinctive design, safety, handling and performance. 

The MG Motor Drive British Dynamics will run from 23 January to 31 January 2026 and offer a chance to win Touch ’n Go credits worth RM 100 (T&C apply) to customers who participate in test drive sessions during the campaign.

Limited-time promotions across the lineup

The automaker is also offering attractive limited-time promotions across its lineup in conjunction with the Chinese New Year period. It includes savings of up to -

• RM 28,000 on the MG S5 EV
• RM 42,000 on the MG HS
• RM 28,000 on the MG4 EV
• RM 11,000 on the MG5

MG Motor Malaysia also offers accelerated delivery on selected models, enabling customers to take their brand-new ride home in less than a week, just in time for Chinese New Year and Raya.

Chinese New Year Aftersales Promotion

As for existing customers, the company has launched a Chinese New Year Aftersales Promotion, running from 16 January to 16 February 2026. It offers a free 30-point vehicle inspection, 15% off maintenance parts, 10% off labour charges, and complimentary festive gifts (T&C apply).
