Mini Cooper Countryman launched at BMW World Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: Mini Cooper Countryman, the uber stylish Mini has made its appearance for the first time at the BMW World Malaysia.

The F55 5 Door Hatchback, Mini Cooper Countryman comes as a lower-powered variant of Mini Cooper S, this locally assembled drive is priced at RM 198,888 on road not including insure, inclusive 6% GST, 2-year unlimited mileage warranty and a 3 year/50000 km MINI Service Inclusive package. The biggest positive is that it stands RM 19k less than pre-facelift Mini Cooper although sporting a much better kit.

 

 

 

As was the case with Mini Cooper S, the facelifted Mini Cooper comes embedded with a lot of small things to offer, this include a double-bar grille and new 17-inch Triangle Spoke alloy wheels. The recent launch comes packing standard halogen reflector headlamps and fog lights, alongside a Chrome Line exterior trim (tail light surrounds, side indicator and grille alongside headlight).

On the inside, this recent generation of Mini Cooper Countryman brings about anthracite gauge (which have replaced the white dials available before), better interior insulation and an advanced switchgear. In Malaysia, these cars are available with Black Checkered and Piano Black interior panels, Chrome Line trim, Polar Beige inlay alongside Cosmos Carbon Black fabric upholstery. The dashboard also mounts a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, standard safety kit (6 airbags, ABS, hill start assist, DSC with traction control), multi-functioning steering wheel, push-button start, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, auto lights and wipers and cruise control.

 

 

Underneath the bonnet of this drive, rests a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder Prince engine which delivers output numbers measuring 120 hp at 6000 rpm and 155 Nm at 4250 rpm, with a 6-speed manual transmission. ( 7.6 L/100 km, 0-100 kmph – 11.6 seconds, top speed – 182 kmph).
